The return code may have one of the following values:
X′0C′ = syntax error
X′0E′ = value is too long
X′10′ = allocation of input dataset failed
X′12′ = open of input file failed
X′14′ = allocation of internal reader failed
X′16′ = open of internal reader failed
X′18′ = 1st rcd not a valid JCL statement

submit-action

A step in the process of submitting a dataset to the internal reader that may be one of the following: allocating, opening, reading, closing, or freeing.

stream-#

The number that identifies one particular output stream of a stage, relative to 1.

stream-type

The stream type can be either input or output.

stream-max

The maximum number of streams supported for input or output by a particular message.

storage-request

The name of the storage-management request macro used in the operation that failed.

storage-class

The 3- or 4-character name of the buffer storage class for the buffer referenced in the message.

stage-operand

A parameter specified with a pipe stage to control its processing.

stage-number

The position within the entire pipe command, relative to 1, of the pipe stage to which the message refers.

stage-name

The 1-8 character name of the pipe stage to which the message refers.
